I oppose it because it's Microsoft teaching kids how to use their products and services. There's a lot of other companies and technologies that are not being peddled by a convicted monopolist. Hopefully I'm wrong and these volunteers are teaching Free and open source software, but I wouldn't hold my breath. The arguments they made against this are really dumb.
If Rooks and Hill don't wish to be called certain terms, their actions shouldn't be consistent with the description of the word. If it walks like a duck and quacks like one, that's a duck!
"but I will be happy when I no longer have to behold it." THIS is priceless !!
Also, I must say the memes peppered throughout are always the most entertaining thing I read until the next time I read a new post from you 😁
Seriously though - there's another reason "certain" board members rejected the free offering of tech pros helping teachers. And I got this from my daughter, a former Osborn district teacher - they don't understand tech issues enough to grasp the concept, nor are they willing to learn.
Also, one may consider since the logic that is required to grasp tech learning is absent from the brains of these people at these meetings the point is moot.
They need logic to grasp the requirements of their job as board members; to understand whether something is or is not in "violation" of anti-affirmative action laws, to understand that their bullying of trans and LBGTQ people is both harmful and illegal, and what the meaning of separation of church and state means. Clearly they have no logical thinking skills.
So yeah - maybe a lawsuit is the only answer - but if they win it, it'll just embolden them even more.
Omg, the same thing happened to me at PVUSD! I wrote a staff email about Trans day of visibility, and someone leaked it to try and get me fired! They sent it to Fox News, the superintendent, the governing board, and the governor. That was 2021. I was totally taken off guard, like, who does that? Is this real life? Me and River should start a band.
Jeanne Casteen ROCKS!
Jeanne Casteen, thank you for all you do! I shake my head at the level of dumb and crazy you have to wade through.
"No one could possibly oppose this, right?"
